“It is an absolute honor and privilege to lead the operations in India and to advance the history of Kia in the country, building on the solid foundation laid by Shim. India is a strategic market for Kia and has the potential to drive the brand’s growth globally. Park said upon his rise to the post.

“In our short trip to India so far, we have achieved many milestones and these accomplishments are a testament to our commitment to revolutionize the automotive industry by making a difference across the automotive ecosystem. Our ambitious goals will not only challenge us, but will also help us make India a major sales, production and research and development center for Kia, ”he said.

Shim was instrumental in bringing the Kia brand to India. Under his supervision, Kia India completed its manufacturing facility in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, and began mass production of vehicles in record time, the company said.

Kia also said that under his dynamic leadership, the company has managed to chronicle several milestones over a short period in the country.

During his career spanning more than three decades, Park has gained immense knowledge of the global business environment and his expertise lies in entering new markets, the company said in the statement.
