UM Macau Fellow in Engineering, Science and Mathematics job with UNIVERSITY OF MACAU

The Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) is calling for applications for the “UM Macau Fellow” program in the following disciplines for a maximum duration of 3 years:

  • Civil and environmental engineering Computing and information sciences Electrical and computer engineering
  • Electromechanical engineering Mathematics Physics and chemistry

The objectives of FST are to provide international standard quality programs of undergraduate and graduate education; be an active research unit advancing knowledge in engineering and science; and serve community and industry as an agent of technological and educational innovation and advancement. It has a team of around 139 full-time academic staff and a student population of around 1,900. The Faculty has received accreditations of all its engineering and computer science programs from the Institute of Engineering in Hong Kong (HKIE), signatory members of the Washington Accord and the Seoul Accord.   1. permanent resident of Macau;
  2. Holder of a Ph.D. from a reputable university.

Depending on the applicants’ academic qualification and experience, successful applicants will be appointed as Postdoctoral Fellows or Research Assistant Professors and will carry the functional title of “UM Macau Fellow” (澳大濠江學者).

The selected candidate is expected to take office in August 2022.

Successful recruits may be invited to seek visiting appointments at a reputable research or academic institution outside Macau to enhance their qualifications and work experience, as well as their research and publication opportunities.


A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP 507,780 will be commensurate with the academic qualification and relevant professional experience of the successful candidates. The current maximum local income tax rate is 12%, but is effectively around 5% – 7% after various discretionary exemptions.
